Train Your Dog with Happy Hounds Newton Abbot

Fun and educational puppy training classes in Newton Abbot for puppy's from 8 weeks up to 20 weeks at the starting date. 

Classes will take place in Combeinteignhead village hall.

We do not require puppies to be ‘fully vaccinated’ before they come. This is because the socialisation period for a dog closes anywhere from 12-14 weeks, so it’s always best to get them started as soon as possible! Plus they acquire natural immunity  if they have fed off their mum.

What does the course cover?

This is more than just 'socialisation'. It is a very informative course for both you and your puppy where we will give lots of vital information as well as key training principles that are important to your puppy's development. This includes topics such as dealing with biting and jumping up, separation anxiety, nutrition, amongst others.

We cover all basic positions, recall, stay, leave it, give and tug, heel work and loose lead walking, play and more play, plus much more! 

Classes are very relaxed and family members are welcome to attend together.

Our puppy Foundation course is a five week course, costing £90, which includes a puppy treat pack. We always have two trainers present when more than 4 puppies in the session, and have a maximum of 7.

At the end of the course you will receive a certificate and rosette upon completion and from here you can stay with us and work through all the stages of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme.
